Hair Prep for Styling
♡ Hair prep considerations for special event hairstyling appointments at our studio:
Dry Styling Only for Events: All bridal party members must arrive with clean, completely dry hair. For best results, please wash your hair the day before the event.
If your hair performs better on a different wash schedule (e.g., freshly washed or two days post-wash), you may wash:
• The night before
• The morning of the day before
• Or two days before — depending on what works best for your hair type. Please do not arrive with wet or damp hair, as we will not have time to offer blow-out add-ons with every hairstyle service booked on-site. Thank you! ♡
Clarifying Shampoo: Use a clarifying shampoo for a deeper clean prior to your wedding day to remove any excess product build-up for optimal hairstyling results.
Conditioning: apply a light-weight conditioner on the ends of your hair during the night before wash, prior to your appointment. For the week leading up to your wedding day, it’s best to avoid heavier hair products such as oils, gels, and hairsprays as clean, dry hair free of products is the easiest to style.
General haircare: Plan to keep up with regular trims/cuts and hair color maintenance leading up to the special event.
Button-up shirts for easy removal: Wear a shirt that is easy to change out of without disturbing your hairstyle. For brides for trial appointments, we recommend wearing a shirt that is similar in color and neckline to your wedding dress to best envision the hairstyle choice with the dress and overall look.
Non-Routine Cut and Color Considerations & Timing: For an overall color change or complete haircut, it’s recommended to schedule 3-6 months prior to the special event. Any hair color touch-ups can be done within one to two weeks prior to the wedding.
